Sample Preparation Instructions
UCS Triaxial
Samples for Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) or Triaxial testing come from drill core. The object of the test is to obtain intact rock strengths for use in calculation of rock mass strengths. The sample length should be at least twice the core diameter, with no internal fractures, if possible. It should be subjected to minimal disturbance or loss of moisture. Sample preparation is as follows:
